Big Gem Park Amenities
Big Gem Park is located at 736 Fourth Street (Route 340) in Shenandoah Virginia, across the street from Enterprise Car Rental & the Dollar General store. The park is 68 acres and is open daily from daylight to midnight. Please look for the water fountain in the center of the pond and the gazebo up on the hill, as the park doesn't have a large sign.
Park Amenities
* Pond with fish and American Pekin Ducks
* Gazebo with picnic tables (Can be reserved for parties, weddings etc)
* Picnic shelter measuring 26 x 48 feet with 15 eight foot long tables & two grills. (Can be reserved for parties, weddings etc). Has electric lights, outlets and ceiling fans.
* One swing set with four swings
* Jungle Jim play area
* Approximately one mile hike/bike trails and bicycle pump track.
* Designated by Virginia Game as Bird watching location
* Yucca Gardens, Tiger Lilly Lane & Old foundation site.
* Geo Cache location.
* Under construction is an area 500' X 500' to be used as a ball field for the Shenandoah Indians baseball team. Also in development stages is the new Scout Park located at the south end of Seventh Street.
* Parking: One small parking lot located next to Pond and a larger parking lot located next to picnic shelter.
* Restrooms - The park does have a restroom facility with running water and sewer located next to the picnic shelter.

Directions to the park
From Luray- Take US-340 South for 18.5 miles, go thru stop light in Shenandoah and park will be on left side of road.
From Elkton- Take US-340 North for 5.9 miles and park will be on right hand side of road, just below Shenandoah Community Library.
