Sometimes we receive interesting photos from neighbors and Shenandoah Newz readers. This photo was sent to us recently and really intrigued us as we had never seen a mother wrench feed her young before. Close examination of the photo we believe the home may have been located in the town of Shenandoah as it had a good collection of vintage Strickler’s & Comer’s Hardware yard sticks and antique cans of Fix All Purpose Enamel paint!

Hey we just wanted to pass on to everyone that we have just found another Little Free Library! This one is located at 105 J Street in the Town of Shenandoah, just off Junior Avenue and down a short distance on the right from Carol Avenue. The sign on the box reads Little Free Library, This library belongs to everyone! Take a Book, Leave a Book. If you see a book you would like to read, feel to take it with you. Return it to this Little Free Library when you are finished. Give Books, keep this Little Free Library operating by leaving books in here for others. Remember, books in this container must not be sold! This library is registered with Little Free Library. Org Charter number 85465. Little Free Library. Org is A nonprofit Organization. There is another one located on the right, just outside of Shenandoah Corporation limits at 10043 US Hwy 340 as you are headed north on Rt 340 towards the race track and recycling center. This one is registered to Lois Hughes, Charter number 31243. See info below the picture.

Have you ever seen a Little Free Library? There is one located on the right, just outside of Shenandoah Corporation limits as you are headed north on Rt 340 towards the race track and recycling center at 10043 US Hwy 340 Charter number 31243. Anyone may contribute or take books. The more the merrier! If you take a book (or two) from a Library, you do not need to return that exact book. However, in order to keep the Little Library full of good choices for the whole neighborhood, the next time you swing by the Library bring a few books to share. Little Library book exchanges function on the honor system; everyone contributes to ensure there are always quality books inside. This way, we all win!

Little Free Library, Ltd. is a registered 501c3 nonprofit. There is a small team of staff and volunteers behind the scenes. They maintain the website and world map. They also donate hundreds of Little Libraries every year and provide support to thousands of Library stewards.

The owner of the Little Free Library outside of Shenandoah is Lois Hughes. We asked Lois to tell us a little about her Little Free Library and this is what she had to say"

"Hello Thanks for checking my Library out. I started going to Free Library's in the Harrisonburg area about a year ago and enjoyed the use of them very much. I then thought that a Library would be nice in the Page County area. It hasn't done very well yet but hoping that it will soon become more popular as time goes by. I have had it here at home since October 2015.My advice would be to put one out and people will have a better selection of books. I read a lot of books and the Little Free Library is a welcome site when I travel around the area. Here's hoping your valuable Newzs story will help to let people know how much fun looking for that special book can be. Thanks and will look for your story soon Lois Hughes"
